Math 8: Pre-Algebra

Eighth Grade Math is a Pre-Algebra course, that provides a good transition from elementary arithmetic into the abstract concepts of algebra.  

Course Description

Students should expect to have daily reading and practice, at least one (or more) weekly written assignments, required participation, weekly drills, and exams as assigned by their instructor. All requirements are assigned and graded by the instructor.

  • Foundations of Algebra, Sourcebook & Practice Book Set
  • Simple Solutions, Algebra 1, Part A
  • Calculator Requirement and Policy: A four function calculator (+ - * ÷ and square root buttons, but not sin, cos, or tan).  Students may use a stand-alone four function calculator only on topics approved by the teacher.  Students in these courses are not allowed to use scientific or graphing calculators to ensure the academic integrity of the curriculum.
