All subjects will be taught by the teacher either through live class, or video lectures and instructions. There will be a balance of formative and summative assignments throughout the week.

(F) Formative Assessment. There will be daily due dates; however, formative assignments not turned in by the end of the week will be excused. These are meant to form the student in the skills necessary for mastery of the concept. Some formative assessments will occur in the live session and some will occur asynchronously.

(S) Summative Assessment. These must be turned in and will be submitted to the instructor for grading and used to assess mastery. Many summative assignments will be cross-curricular to streamline the submission process and ease the number of assignments for this younger age group. For example, the teacher can assess Penmanship, Language Arts, and History in one written assignment.

Video- Videos will be asynchronous videos, which are created by our teachers in an engaging and interactive format. Self-grading videos may be provided as well, if needed.

Art (K)- In Kindergarten, the art program will be geared toward weekly thematic projects that build fine motor skills: Cutting, coloring, gluing, etc.

Art (1-2)- The first and second grade art program will focus on learning about famous artists throughout history while completing a monthly project in the style of the artist geared towards the specific age group.
