In partnership with Magdalen College of the Liberal Arts, students in this course will master the fundamentals of Classical Greek and will translate level-appropriate sentences on the path to engaging more complex texts such as are found in the great classical authors of ancient Greece.  By fully comprehending the primary elements of grammar and vocabulary, students who successfully complete this introductory course will be prepared to read Greek at the intermediate level and to translate simple prose, from Aesop to the New Testament, more or less independently.

Students taking this course for Kolbe Core (OK) credit are expected to complete daily assignments, participate in class, and complete periodic exams and quizzes as assigned by their instructor.  All requirements are assigned and graded by the instructor.
