Math 6

Sixth Grade Math course enhances basic math skills, number sense, and operations.

The goal of Math 6 is to further develop the student’s understanding and usage of basic math skills, number sense, and operations. Students should have mastered the four basic operations and be ready for more challenging computations and equations.  The concepts of Integers and Rational Numbers will be further developed as well as Ratios, Percents, and Coordinate Geometry.  There will be an increased emphasis on algebraic thinking.  Other topics that are studied include: Data & Statistics, Measurement, Geometry and Proportions.  Math 6 is designed to help students develop important logic and reasoning skills that will be invaluable in future mathematics courses and throughout life.

Students should expect to have daily reading, at least one (or more) weekly written assignments, required participation, and exams as assigned by their instructor. All requirements are assigned and graded by the instructor.
