Kolbe Academy Expands Dual Credit Opportunities with Catholic International University

Kolbe Academy is pleased to announce an expansion of its dual credit program through a new partnership with Catholic International University. This collaboration further strengthens Kolbe’s commitment to providing high school students with access to rigorous, college-level coursework while remaining rooted in an authentically Catholic, classical education.

Kolbe Academy has long recognized the value of dual credit programs in preparing students for success in higher education. By partnering with institutions such as Catholic International University and other Newman Guide schools, Kolbe students have the opportunity to earn college credit while completing their high school studies, benefiting from an academically challenging curriculum in a Catholic environment.

Dual Credit Benefits for Kolbe Families

  • Faithful & Accredited Education – Courses are taught from the heart of the Church, maintaining fidelity to Catholic teaching and the liberal arts tradition.
  • Flexible, Accelerated Format – Students complete college-level work on their schedule, in eight-week modules designed for motivated high schoolers.
  • Academic Advancement – College credits fulfill Kolbe high school graduation requirements and can reduce future college tuition and time to degree.
  • Broad Transferability – Students may transfer credits to other institutions or continue seamlessly into a Catholic International undergraduate degree.
  • Intellectual & Spiritual Formation – Courses nurture critical thinking and align with Kolbe’s mission to form students in both mind and soul.

Courses Offered through Catholic International University

Kolbe students may choose from the following dual credit courses for the 2025-26 academic year:

  • SOC 101 – Introduction to Sociology
  • GREEK 101 – Elementary Greek I
  • GREEK 102 – Elementary Greek II
  • PHIL 250 / THEO 270 – Introduction to Catholic Health Care Ethics
  • MATH 105 – General Mathematics for Liberal Studies
  • LIB 200 – Principles of Liberal Learning

These offerings reflect CIU’s dedication to both classical education and relevant contemporary topics, allowing Kolbe students to explore disciplines that integrate faith, reason, and practical insight.

"This partnership with Catholic International University further expands the academic opportunities available to our families," said Megan Lengyel, Chief Academic Officer at Kolbe Academy. “By offering these courses, Kolbe continues to lead in preparing students for college and beyond without compromising on Catholic identity or academic rigor.”

Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, Provost of Catholic International University, shared: “We are thrilled to welcome Kolbe students into our academic community. This collaboration is grounded in our shared vision of forming students to think clearly, act virtuously, and live faithfully.”
