Liturgical Living in September 2024

Welcome to the beginning of the 2024-25 school year and the liturgical year of CHARITY!

Father, your truth is made known in your Word. Guide us to seek the truth of the human person. Teach us the way to love because you are Love. Jesus, you embody Love and Truth. Help us to recognize your face in the poor. Enable us to live out our vocation to bring love and justice to your people. Holy Spirit, you inspire us to transform our world. Empower us to seek the common good for all persons. Give us a spirit of solidarity and make us one human family. Amen.

Charity is loving God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and your neighbor as yourself. The theological virtue of charity is given to us in Baptism. Like any other virtue, we must grow in charity by practicing charity. Saint Paul reminds us that no matter how great or how glorious our deeds, if they lack charity, these good deeds are empty; while Saint John reminds us that the true test of our love for God is how we treat our neighbor.

Throughout September Kolbe students will learn about hope through these inspiring exemplars: St. Gertrude, St. Vincent de Paul, and Bl. Laura Vicuña. We are called as parents and teachers to instill these virtues into our home and community as well.

Ad majorem Dei gloriam!
