Kolbe's Summer Reading Program is designed to encourage reading and promote lifelong learning during the summer months. The program offers a range of activities and resources to keep readers engaged and motivated.

Summer Reading Clubs & Courses

For those looking for a more interactive experience, our Summer Reading Clubs provide opportunities to connect with other readers and discuss books in a virtual setting. Enroll for these courses and clubs through the Kolbe Portal and see our extensive course listing at courses.kolbe.org (to view summer courses, select "2024-SU" from the Academic Term filter).

Summer Term runs from June 18th through July 18th (with a break over the week of July 4th). Some courses run for the duration of the summer term while others are one-week courses. Please check course descriptions for the session week.

Summer Weekly Session Dates:
Week 1: June 18-20
Week 2: June 25-27
Week 3: July 09-11
Week 4: July 16-18‍

Summer Reading Challenge

One of the highlights of the program is the Summer Reading Challenge, which challenges participants to read a certain number of books over the summer. In addition, readers can download the Kolbe Academy Summer Reading List for recommendations on what to read next.

Instructions for Prizes:
We are excited to reward our dedicated readers with fun prizes and a chance to win our Grand Prize of a set of books from our Historical Fiction Summer Reading List.

‍Tiered Prizes:
In addition to the grand prize raffle, we are offering the following tiered prizes based on the number of books you submit:

Tier 1 (3-5 Books):

A set of Kolbe Academy stickers.

Tier 2 (6-9 Books):

Includes all Tier 1 prizes.
A Kolbe Academy pen.

Tier 3 (10+ Books):

Includes all Tier 1 & 2 prizes.
A Kolbe Academy water bottle.
A staff-selected book from Kolbe’s Historical Fiction Summer Reading List, based on the student’s grade level.

Raffle Entries:
Each book your student submits will earn one entry into our Grand Prize Raffle for a set of 6 books from our Historical Fiction Summer Reading List.

Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge below.
Use the link in your confirmation email to access the submission form.
Submit each book your student reads through the summer using the submission form.
Track their submissions and aim for the next prize tier!
